Harrowing Slumber was something of a thematic precursor to Sentiessence.

'English bands and endeavours worthy of your time within TSF's sphere of interest are something rare indeed. Seems quite strange really. But here is one from the man behind Instinct. Unlike the latter, Harrowing Slumber is very reminiscent sound-wise of Reverorum Ib Malacht's moodier works (demo 09 in particular), certain of the less metal-oriented Ancient Records releases and perhaps Grudom or Hammemit to some extent.

The album is mainly instrumental with varying levels of clean(ish) sombre and deep guitar, creative drumming, and is quite varied musically, though it all gels together seamlessly, forming a complete work of consistent nocturnal atmosphere.

Devotees of the above-mentioned bands should find something of interest here and I personally hope for greater, definitive works to come.'
